Dear Asthall Leigh Memorial Hall Supporter,
This exciting new page on the Web Site is to tell you about the ‘National Lottery Community Fund’ grant that we received in 2023 to erect some much needed new fences around the Memorial Hall’s garden and the fields, which you remember we purchased with money raised from the local community, with some added help from our local farmer and neighbour, Richard the year before. We are also setting aside grant money for planting some trees as well.
We are so grateful to the ‘National Lottery Community Fund’ as we wouldn’t have been able to do this work on our own. As you will see from the photos, we have already started on the fences and will continue down the left side of the field in the Spring of 2024 when the weather improves. This will really set off the fields and make them properly part of the Memorial Hall’s land and a safe space for the whole community to enjoy.
The advice we’ve received it to plant the Tree’s after the Summer when the hot and dry weather has past, which we still plan to do.
